This Privacy Policy explains how pomodiary.com, the official website of POMODIARY LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares and protects information when you visit the website. Each POMODIARY application (for example our Android apps, web apps on pomodiary.com subdomains, and products such as FlowType.AI or ChatPaper.AI) may have its own privacy policy that applies to that product; where it does, that policy controls for that product.

Information we collect

pomodiary.com is a public website. You do not need an account to browse it, and we do not ask for your name, address or payment details.

Information you give us

  • Email messages: if you write to hi@pomodiary.com, we receive your email address and the content of your message.
  • Newsletter: if you subscribe to updates, we store your email address and subscription status.
  • Public archive content: historical guestbook messages that visitors previously chose to post publicly.

Information collected automatically

  • Log and device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of each request. Our hosting provider processes this data to deliver and secure the site.
  • Approximate location: country and city derived from your IP address, used for aggregate statistics such as the "recent visitor" counter in the footer.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We and our partners use them for the following purposes:

  • Essential and preference storage: remembering your light or dark color theme and your cookie choice (stored in your browser's local storage).
  • Analytics cookies (only with your consent): Google Analytics cookies such as "_ga" are set only after you click "Accept" in our cookie banner.
  • Advertising cookies: we do not show ads yet. When we start using Google AdSense, ad cookies will be governed by the consent process described under "Advertising".

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you choose, and if you click "Decline", no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the website, such as pages viewed, time on page, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We use Google Consent Mode v2, and every consent type (analytics and advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization) is set to "denied" by default for all visitors.

  • Before you accept, or if you decline: Google Analytics does not set or read cookies on your device. Google's tag may still send cookieless pings that contain no cookie identifiers, such as the page visited, a timestamp and browser information; your IP address is used by Google to derive an approximate location, as with any web request. Google uses these pings for aggregate, modeled reporting.
  • After you accept: analytics storage is granted, and Google Analytics sets cookies (for example "_ga") to recognize repeat visits. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics, provided by our hosting provider Vercel Inc., which measures aggregate page views without using cookies.

Advertising

This website does not display ads yet. We plan to use Google AdSense. Once ads are enabled, Google and other third-party vendors will act as advertising providers:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, will use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices or, in the EU, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
  • If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your browsing.
  • Other third-party ad vendors or ad networks may also serve ads on this site. Their use of cookies is governed by their own privacy policies. You can see the list of ad technology providers Google works with in Google's ad technology providers list.

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland

Analytics cookies are used only with your consent, which we collect for all visitors through the cookie banner described above. Before we enable Google AdSense, we will add a consent management platform certified by Google and integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, so that visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent to advertising cookies and personalized ads before they are used. We will update this policy when that happens. Visitors who do not consent to ad cookies may still be shown non-personalized ads, which use cookies only for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregated ad reporting and fighting fraud and abuse, where permitted.

Legal bases (EEA/UK): we rely on your consent for analytics cookies (and, once ads are enabled, advertising cookies); on our legitimate interests to run, secure and improve the site and answer messages; and on legal obligation where applicable.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf: Vercel (hosting and web analytics), Google (Analytics, and AdSense once enabled), Sanity (content management), Upstash (page-view counters), and Resend (sending email).
  • Advertising partners: once ads are enabled, Google and its partners may collect information through cookies as described above.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
  • With your consent: in any other case, only with your permission.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email hi@pomodiary.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request deletion and correction; and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not currently use advertising cookies. Once ads are enabled, the use of advertising cookies by Google and other vendors may be considered "sharing" under California law, and you will be able to opt out by using Google Ads Settings, the DAA opt-out tool, or by emailing us. You can decline analytics cookies at any time through "Cookie settings" in the footer. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Data retention

  • Emails and support requests: as long as needed to handle the request, and generally no more than 2 years
  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it
  • Analytics data: according to the retention settings of the analytics provider (Google Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months)
  • Server logs: generally no more than 1 year

Data security

We use HTTPS for all traffic, restrict access to our service accounts, and rely on providers that maintain industry-standard security. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International data transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children's privacy

This website is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

Our pages link to our own products on other domains and to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice on the site.
